Welcome. I'm glad you're here!
Maybe you're here because you need biographical information to introduce me at a speaking engagement. Or maybe you're looking for articles I've written. Or maybe you'd like to send me a message. I hope you'll find what you need.
But maybe you're here for some other reason. Maybe it's because you read or heard something from me that resonated with you. Maybe you, too, have wondered if something bad happened to you a long, long time ago. Maybe something bad did happen, and you remember it all too well. Maybe you, too, have had thoughts you couldn't control, or feelings that swamped you. Maybe you're bone-weary and soul-dry. Maybe you, too, have wondered whether you will ever see the goodness of God in the land of the living.
My wild hope is that someday, whether it's at the back of a crowded bookstore or in line at a conference or at a banqueting table in the Kingdom of God, you and I will meet face to face. Maybe you'll tell me your story. Maybe you won't have to say anything at all. Maybe I'll just know, when I look at you, that you and I are siblings in the family of the bedraggled. That we know what it is to almost give up, to be rescued by grace, to keep on fighting. Maybe you'll teach me a thing or two about holding on. Maybe we'll hug. Maybe we'll just cry.
Until that day, beloved, while you are there and I am here, I offer you my words: a thin strand of hope that hangs between us.
